Product Description "Paint By Numbers." In the third album, fans can expect a little less country and a lot more rock 'n' roll. Vocalist, songwriter and guitarist Bryn Loosley said the band has moved from playing mostly country rock music to more traditional rock 'n' roll. "Our first album was all country rock, then the second album had a little more rock in it," Loosley said. "The third however, is all rock" Loosley went on to define Buffalo Creek's music as retro-original. "The themes and ideas come from old-fashioned rock 'n' roll and are recycled, but are much more original," he said. "It's definitely a style you won't hear on the radio." And Loosley is right. "Paint By Numbers" is filled with thought-provoking, emotional tracks that will take your mind into pleasure mode. Whether it be "Barroom Queens," a Lynyrd Skynyrd-type tale about a groupie, or the deeply descriptive "Northern California," which is about lazy days at the river and the coming of fall, "Paint By Numbers" has a sound that's completely on its own level. Review You will not be dissapointed. If you like americana, you like BC. --Andrea Espindola - The Orion Newspaper, February 16th, 2005 About the Artist Touring and recording since 2000, Buffalo Creek received their first radio airplay with a single from their self titiled six song E.P. which allowed them to tour California, Oregon and Washington which brought them to the attention of Wild Oak Records and Vina Loam Records. Since then, the band has established themselves a continuous touring circuit in Northern California cities, playing regularly in San Francisco, Sacramento, Davis, Lake Tahoe, The North Coast, S.L.O, Humbolt and literally countless suburbs. While touring Northern California and recording their first full length to be released Oct. 24th 2003, the band established enough of a fan base in their hometown of Chico, CA to reach almost celebrity status. The largest club in town, La Salles now features a guitar autographed by each member proudly hung on the wall above the bar, and a string of crowded friday night shows there have promised their permanent place in the towns diverse musical history. Describing their sound only as "down and dirty rock and roll" Buffalo Creek can be associated with the California Soul sound, mixing classic rock and country twang and an alternative edge. Their sound has allowed them to play wiht artists as diverse as Sawyer Brown and Tim Bluhm from the Mother Hips. It's obvious to anyone who has seen a live show that Rock and Roll is the foundation on which Buffalo Creek is built. The concise songwriting of Bryn Loosley provides the band with a seemingly endless supply of new, original material which has provided the band with a back catalouge of over 100 original songs.
